What We Believe

At Stagecoach Road Christian Fellowship, our beliefs are firmly rooted in Scripture.  Therefore, we affirm the following:

THE BIBLE

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as uniquely inspired by God, as inerrant in the original writings and that they are supreme and final authority in faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:19-21, Hebrews 4:12)

THE TRINITY

We believe there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Isaiah 45:5, 2 Corinthians 13:14)

JESUS CHRIST

We believe in the Deity and perfect humanity of Christ, His virgin birth, His shed blood for atonement, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, and in His present ministry there for us as High Priest and advocate, and His personal return to establish His kingdom on earth. (Hebrews 1:18, 4:15, 1 John 5:20, 1 Corinthians 12:4-6, Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:35, Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14, Luke 24:39-40, Acts 1:11, Daniel 2:4, Revelation 19:11-16)

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit convinces and convicts of sin, righteousness, and judgment; makes believers children of God through the new birth, joins them to the body of Christ (the church), assures them of heaven, guides into truth, and by His indwelling enables Christians to live a Godly life. (John 16:7-13, 1 Corinthians 12:3, 2 Corinthians 1:22, Galatians 5:22-25, Romans 8:14-16)

HUMANITY

We believe that man was created by God in His image which includes knowledge, righteousness, and true holiness, but as a result of Satan’s work in the entrance of sin into the world, all men are now sinful, blinded and lost, and without God’s grace applied, are destined to an eternity in hell, a place of conscious punishment prepared for Satan and other fallen angels. (Genesis 1:27, Colossians 3:10, Ephesians 4:23-24, Genesis 3:1-6, Romans 3:10-12, 23, 1 Corinthians 4:4, Revelation 20:10-15)

SALVATION

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith, not of works, and that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, thereby becoming children of God eternally secure in Him. (Ephesians 2:8-9, John 1:12, 3:3-7)

END TIMES

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ will return for His Church before the tribulation period begins (Pre-Tribulation Position) and that after the tribulation period ends, He will return with His Church and set-up His Kingdom of Righteousness (Pre-Millennial Position).

SATAN

We believe that Satan was an archangel, Lucifer, and because of pride he fell in sin, and seeks to draw all mankind to follow him and do his will and not God’s will. He is a personal, powerful, and reigning dignitary, the prince of the power of all evil, the spirit that works in the hearts and minds of all the unsaved and is the adversary of God and man and shall be cast into the lake of fire eternally. (Isaiah 14:12-15, Ezekiel 28:14-19, Luke 22:13, 2 Corinthians 4:4, 11-14)

THE CHURCH

We believe in the church universal, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and of which all regenerated people are members. We also believe that the visible local church is a company of regenerated baptized believers in Jesus Christ, associated together for work, worship, and fellowship. (Ephesians 1:22-23, 5:23-27, Colossians 1:18-19)

ORDINANCES

We believe in the observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper in obedience to the commands of Christ; that Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water as his identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ and that the elements of the Lord’s Supper are symbolic of the body and shed blood of Christ. (Matthew 26:26-30, Matthew 28:19-20,Mark 14:22-26, Mark 16:16, Luke 22:19-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-34)

AUTONOMY OF THE CHURCH

We believe that every person is directly responsible to God alone in all matters of faith and that each church is independent and autonomous and must be free from interference from all ecclesiastical or political authority. (Matthew 18:15-18, Romans 14:1-23, Galatians 6:1)

CHURCH & STATE

We believe that civil government is of divine appointment and for the interest and good order of human society. We uphold the separation of church and state. Governmental leaders are to be prayed for, honored, and obeyed except when their directives conflict with clear biblical principles. (Acts 5:29, Romans 13:1-18, 1 Timothy 2:1-2)
