The Thomas Loman Files

About Thomas Loman

He is our Senior Pastor. His name is Thomas Loman. Gee, that's nice. Who is this guy, and why is he our Pastor? Read on to find out a bit about who Pastor Loman is, where his roots are, where he studied, and what his motivation in this world is!

Thomas Loman was born in Lexington, KY but spent much of his childhood in Cincinnati, OH. He became a follower of Jesus Christ at the age of 7, while attending the Landmark Baptist Temple. After moving with his family back to Lexington for his teenage years, he felt the call of God into ministry at age 16.

Upon graduation from High School, Thomas enrolled at Liberty University, where he met his wife Lauren, a Glassboro, NJ native, while on a missions trip to Jamaica in the spring of 1998. Two years later, in May of 2000, Thomas graduated from LU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Religion. The Loman’s were married in June of that same year at the Willow Valley Conference Center in Lancaster, PA. Later that summer, Thomas enrolled in seminary and also began his ministry career as the Youth Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Altavista, VA.

In January of 2002, God called the Loman’s to relocate to New Jersey, where Thomas went on staff at the Clayton Baptist Church in Clayton, NJ. During the spring of 2003, the Loman’s were blessed to welcome their first child, Micah, into the world. This was a challenging and exciting time, as just a few months later, the Loman’s were commissioned by Clayton Baptist to launch the South Jersey Community Church, a new church seeking to reach the residents of Williamstown, NJ. In the spring of 2006, the Loman’s were blessed with their second son, Levi.

After five years of ministry with the church plant, in December of 2008, Thomas felt the Lord’s leading to step down from his position as Pastor, not knowing exactly what God had in store next for their family. Thinking they would be moving back to Virginia to continue graduate school, the Loman’s were surprised to find that the Lord had a different plan in mind altogether.

In January of 2009, Thomas went on staff as the Interim Pastor at the Stagecoach Road Christian Fellowship with the intention of staying for only a brief time before making the move back to Virginia. During that period the Lord blessed Thomas with a full-tuition scholarship to attend Liberty University’s graduate program online, alleviating the need to uproot the family to another state. In May of 2010, Thomas was able to complete his Master of Arts in Religion degree. After 2 years of ministry as Interim Pastor, in January of 2011, Thomas officially accepted the call to become the Senior Pastor at SRCF.

In April of 2011, the Loman’s welcomed their first daughter, Chloe, into the world, and in May of that same year Thomas graduated again from Liberty with a Master of Religious Education degree. Lauren Loman is currently on pace to graduate in 2013 with a Master of Arts in Management and Leadership from LU. She also serves as the Director of the Trinity Learning Center in Clayton, NJ. The Loman’s feel very blessed to be a part of what God is doing here at Stagecoach Road Christian Fellowship!

David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them. (Psalm 78:72)
