Stagecoach Road Christian Fellowship (SRCF) was originally founded in June of 1962, as First Baptist Church of Turnersville.

It was on June 1962 that Pastor Charles Phillips came to this area to lay the groundwork for our church.  He was sponsored by the Minute Man program of CBA fellowship.

The first prayer meeting was held in the Old Methodist Social Hall in Turnersville, with 3 or 4 persons present.  Our first services were held in a rented house on Orr Road.  The pastor’s family lived upstairs and the church used the downstairs.

We met on September 30, 1962 for the purpose of organizing, and it was agreed that we should be called the First Baptist Church of Turnersville.  There were 16 charter members.

In August of 1963, the church held it’s First Anniversary.  After the morning services, a dinner was held on the grounds outside the house followed by a service out under the trees.  As we looked back over that first year, we were thrilled at what God had done.

In March 1964, the Lord led in buying acreage on Stage Coach Road.  Later, the parsonage was bought, and Pastor Phillips was called to begin a new work in Lakewood, NJ.  In those two years we had moved from the rented house to the Social Hall again and then to the Youth Fellowship Hall in Williamstown.

Rev. Karl Kline was called to be the pastor here in August 1964.  The white building on our property was first used on New Year’s Eve, 1966, and dedicated to the Lord on March 6, 1966.   Pastor Kline left in the spring of that year, and Pastor and Mrs. Boyes joined us in November of 1966. This building is most often referred to as the Hacienda now, and used mainly for the Youth Group.

It was during their ministry that the main brick building was built.   A service of dedication was held on September 28, 1975, with Dr. Charles Anderson, President of Northeastern Bible College bringing the dedication message.

Randy and Diane Yager served as our Director of Christian Education during Pastor Boyes tenure here.  Through their efforts, our Awana ministry was chartered during November 1976.   Pastor and Mrs. Boyes served with the Yagers here until 1981, when Pastor Boyes retired.

In 1982, Pastor and Mrs. Dale Cadman came to First Baptist.  Serving with them here during that time was Ken and Karolyn Sommers.  Ken served as our Youth Pastor.  Pastor Cadman retired from the ministry in 1985.

In March of 1986, Pastor and Mrs. James E. Leary came to First Baptist Church.  Wayne Idecker came during the summer of 1988 to begin his studies at the Seminary of the East.  He served with the Pastor in many capacities during his studies as an intern, with Pastor Leary and Wes Gregson serving as his mentors.  He graduated from the Seminary on September 25, 1993.

During the course of Pastor Leary's tenure, the congregation made the decision to change the name of the church to Stagecoach Road Christian Fellowship, or SRCF, which is our current name.

As time moved on, Pastor (now Dr.) Leary was called to become a leader on a larger scale, and began working with CB America as part of it's regional staff. Dr. Leary is now a 'pastor to pastors', and is still an active member of our congregation, though no longer on the pastoral staff.

In January of 2009, Thomas Loman came to SRCF as our interim pastor. It was neither Pastor Loman's nor the churches initial plan for his tenure at SRCF to be more than a short period of time. God, however, had another plan. As is always the case, the Lords plan is perfect - in timing, in depth, in persons and in situations. At a specially called meeting for members of SRCF, Pastor Loman was asked to become our full time pastor, after nearly 2 years of officially being 'interim'. Pastor Loman accepted the churches offer, and remains today as our Sr. pastor.

God is bringing people from a variety of backgrounds to SRCF. If you desire to learn how to study your Bible, learn how to share your faith, or to serve Him in some very meaningful ways, we believe that SRCF can be your church home.  If you have attended SRCF for sometime now, and feel at home, we would invite you to join in membership.
